What Is SPRAVATO®?

SPRAVATO® is a prescription nasal spray containing esketamine.

Instead of working through the same pathways as many traditional antidepressants, SPRAVATO® acts on the brain’s NMDA receptor system.

It is used for adults with treatment-resistant depression, meaning depression that has not responded adequately to previous antidepressant treatment. Current FDA labeling allows SPRAVATO® to be used on its own or together with an oral antidepressant for treatment-resistant depression.


SPRAVATO® is not taken home.


You receive each treatment in a certified healthcare setting, where our team stays with you and monitors you afterward.

In-Office Care


  • Every treatment is provided in a certified healthcare setting. SPRAVATO® cannot be dispensed for home use.


Time to Rest and Be Monitored


  • After treatment, you’ll remain at the office for at least two hours while our team monitors how you’re feeling and makes sure you are clinically ready to leave.


Personalized Treatment


  • Your provider will determine your treatment schedule based on your diagnosis, response, and individual needs.

What Can I Expect During a SPRAVATO® Appointment?

Knowing what to expect can make starting a new treatment feel a little easier.

When you arrive, our team will prepare you for your treatment and review how you’re feeling.


You will self-administer the SPRAVATO® nasal spray while a healthcare provider directly supervises you.


After your dose, you’ll stay with us for monitoring for at least two hours.

Some people may experience temporary effects such as dizziness, sleepiness, nausea, changes in perception or a feeling of disconnection, or an increase in blood pressure. Because of these potential effects, SPRAVATO® has specific safety and monitoring requirements.
